Standing in cot at nap times

Sure there have been previous posts on this but I can't find them... my daughter (9 months next week) keeps standing up in her cot when I put her down for a nap. She cries as she can't work out how to get back down to sleep (either standing up furiously staring out through the bars, or sitting howling). I'm going in to lay her back down but it's completely destroying her getting-to-sleep routine - she's getting cross and overtired, and it's taking ages to get her down (we started controlled crying recently as sleep had got ridiculous and I've just gone back to work - but obviously can't do this if we're going back in to lay her down). Has anyone had the same and got any ideas? Thanks

Am afraid you have to keep doing the lying them down thing until they get tired of their new trick - it should pass in a few days. Try not to react as will make it a game. Just lie her down and gently say its sleep time and leave the room. We've all been there - and this too will pass...
