slumber bear does it work?

My dd#2 20 weeks has difficulty getting past the 45 minute sleep cycle during the day and at night.

Our fault for not nipping it in the bud early on, but her constant and very loud crying disturbs dd#1 age 4 who often is still awake at 11pm due to the noise and commotion.

I have read reviews that say this bear activates when the baby gets restless and is supposes to lull them back to sleep. Please please tell me this works before we all go off our heads here.

I want a miracle cure

We bought a slumber bear when DD was about 4 weeks old & very unsettled and it seemed to soothe her almost straight away. We had it on the 'heart' setting, which was (obviously!) the sound of a heart beating, but sort of muffled.

Quite relaxing actually, especially when I was sitting next to her cot nodding off in the middle of the night! It turns on and off when baby moves, as you say.

The only thing is, I'm not 100% sure whether introducing it at 20 weeks would work - it might, but I think the point is that it simulates the womb, so works best for small babies who then get used to it as they get older. We recently packed it away (DD is now 6.5 months) because she didn't seem to be bothered about whether it was on or not.

Either way, not a miracle cure, but might be worth a go - just maybe bear the above in mind.

'Bear the above in mind' wasn't actually meant to be a play in words

Thanks for the unintentional laugh, I bought one today and put it with her at nap time and she fell back asleep. Hope it was just not beginners luck.

Brilliant. Pleased it seems to be working so far.

We bought one when our DD was around 4-5 weeks old and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately over time it seems to have lost its magic - and now (27 wks) it has no effect whatsover

Hope your DD is more receptive!
