Sleepless nights due to aching hips

Hi

Is anyone else suffering from such badly aching hips that they wake up from the pain in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep again? I've found it to have gotten worse over the past couple of weeks, and I am only a week off my due date. Putting a cushion between my legs doesn't help

Try using two or three, and take a couple of paracetamol.

Also, a space foam mattress helps a little.

I have total empathy. this made me miserable in my last pregnancy.

Thanks, coldtits, I may just try your suggestion. Anything to get away from the discomfort and sleepless nights!

This is my first pregnancy. Naively, I had thought the sleepless nights were to come only AFTER the baby arrives! Just hope the birth is not long off now.

Try making a sort of hollow for your hip to sit in with soft pillows.

If it's any comfort, a week after you have that baby your body will ease up and your hips should stop hurting

Will try this also. Seems like you have the know-how on aching hips!

By the way, does pregnancy and childbirth give you wider hips that won't return to their original size after the birth? The other day, my sis (who is oh so discreet and who doesn't yet have any children herself by the way) said I had developed childbearing hips and that I'm likely to stay this way forever! I wasn't really fussed about it until she said it and it makes me panic as I have always been slim so to have massive hips would look completely out of proportion to the rest of my body. Plus it doesn't help that sis keeps going on about her extreme slimming plans and the fact she is losing weight so quickly that she has slimmed from size 12 to size 8 all the while I've been pregnant.

My hips didn't get any bigger at all, so personally I think that's rubbish.
