Waking up shouting and upset every morning, help....

My 26 month old ds wakes every morning, around 7am (which is fine) shouting. It then doesn't seem to matter how quickly, or slowly you get to him he is upset.

Demands to go downstairs for tele (only time of the day he watches any), food (fair enough), he will only be carried by me, not dh, and shrieks if I try and stay in bed.

We've tried going to him immediately, leaving him for a few minutes, dh taking him down (hysteria) and it's making mornings really hard work.

Any advice please?

I don't have any specific advice, but just to let you know that DS (a bit younger, 18 months) was like this until very recently, and then suddenly, soon after christmas, just stopped doing it.

I think with him, the biggest problem was that he was waking up starving, because he has dinner at about 5pm. We started making a real effort to drag out dinner a bit (can't give him a snack as he then won't eat dinner later, so wakes even earlier, even hungrier!) and give him a big pudding. Seems to have helped! He also eats much better when we all sit down together, as he is ignored more, and plays up much more over dinner when it's just me brandishing a fork at him!

Thank you, maybe I'll try a last thing snack!

My 3 year old is just the smae, she starts yelling and shouting as soon as she opens her eyes, sometimes even before! I don't have any advice but my 5 year old used to be exactly the same but now she wakes up ahppy. I don't know how or when it happened but she just changed so I am hoping the little one will be the same.
