Rolling over and waking up

I thought someone posted about this recently but I can't find it. DS is 5 1/2 months and has just started waking up in the night crying having rolled onto his tummy. In addition to the normal wake-ups for food, it's a killer. I don't suppose there's anything I can do except wait for him to grow out of it (how long?). Is there?

I'm guessing that he can roll from his back to his tummy but not the other way? If that's the case he's probably just a bit freaked out that he's managed to get on to his tummy. I remember DS going through this phase but it didn't last long at all....it's a while ago but I think it was less than a week. Once he realised that it was ok to be on his tummy or he could manage to roll on his back or side, he seemed a lot happier.

Sure you'll be out of this phase and in to another soon enough!

Yep, my dd did that at just the same age. Drove me MAD and in the end I put a pillow on either side of her in the cot (tie them onto the bars if you can) so she couldn't roll. It worked, but I don't know how safe it was....
Just wait till he starts standing in bed instead...

My Ds is a tummy sleeper but around 6mth started rolling onto his back 5-10 times a night, I bought a sleep support thingy

www.amazon.co.uk/First-Years-Nature-Sensations-Positioner/dp/B000HK89GA/ref=sr_1_2? ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid=1266051935&sr=1-2

It worked for us and i took it away last month (9mth old), He starts night on back then ends on side.

I was willing to try anything!
