Any hints for reluctant swaddlers?

I have been swaddling my DD aged 9 weeks for past month(with varying degrees of sucess) and recently bought a kiddopotamus swaddle me. DD can't wriggle out, but now spends 15 minutes plus per night straining and often throws up,(reflux or lack of adequate winding- not sure). This leads to a pick up, and cuddle and I have to start settling again... Any advice? Or will she just get used to it?

Maybe it's time to start using a grow bag?

Sorry, I didn't mean for that to sound flippant, but they're much better, and apparently you can get ones with sleeves these days, v. practical.

Did originally try sleep-bag but DD was disturbing herself with her startle reflex.

I had the same issue especially with the straining to get out thing. I ended up using grow bags with my twins at about 7 weeks. They were startled at first which did slightly put me off but we stuck with it and they calmed down really quickly. My boys are now 12 weeks and they are fine in the grow bags now.

Oh dear, poor you and your baby. I found swaddling was a life-saver re self-disturbing. No advice, just sympathy.
