Moon Madness!

I know this sounds ridiculous but does anyone think the moon can impact upon behaviour/sleep. Honestly everytime there is a full moon my 3 year old won't sleep. She was wide awake from aroun 3-5 am last night. She is just full of energy.

I have noticed this happens around the time of a full moon regularly. Most of the time she sleeps pretty normally (though wakes really early.)

Do you think I'm crackers?

No, not crackers...it's the same here with my 4-month old DS. Last night he was up every two hours (normally it's every 4). I tell myself it's because of the full moon, but then I'm always looking for excuses for his bad sleeping habits!

Glad it's not just me then. Hopefully we might have a better night!

My sister looks after adult SN and has told me in the past how the moon does affect some of her customers personalities, so I don't see why not.

My DD, 14 weeks, was up all that full moon night too - and she did it last month - mind you she's not a great sleeper at the best of times, but its nice to be able to blame something other than a growth spurt (which has been going on since 8 weeks...)

Argh!!! Full moon again and another awful night last night!! Last few nights been getting steadily worse culminating in last night's mayhem. Fitted balckout blinds after last month's moon horror but made NO difference, must be something to do with the energy? Hoping now we've had the full moon she'll settle down a bit... Anyone else suffered too?

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/03/2010 10:57

Not crackers at all - I find my sleep is worse around a full moon too!

flussymummy · 03/03/2010 20:51

Totally agree! DD (who is 2.4 and always been a poor sleeper) had a terrible night this week with the full moon- wide awake for at least 3 hrs between about midnight and 3am and on and off for the rest of the night.

When I was growing up on the farm it seemed to affect animals very noticeably. More restless with a full moon. Not sure if it was just the light or gravity.

BeckyBendyLegs · 04/03/2010 10:15

When was the full moon? I slept 1 hour on Tuesday night! Terrible.
