GF -vs- non GF sleepers?

Now, pls bear with me...I've been an avid mn reader since dd born in Feb 09 BUT I've never started a topic before so don't tell me off yet!
I considered using GF when pg but decided v v v v v early that it wasn't for me! Basically too lazy.
dd now 11mo and was a brilliant sleeper until 9mo. Now that I'm back at wk she likes to wake up 2, 3 or 4 times nightly.
Have several friends who used GF and claim to never had had a night wake-up. Now, I'm not daft enough to believe everything they say, but if they've even had a couple of months of night wakes, I'm wondering if anyone (pls forgive my ignorance here) has considered the difference between GF'd babies and non- GF'd babies when it comes to night sleeping, particularly around 11-12 months(ish)???
Now, obviously if it's been done to death elsewhere I'd be grateful for the pointer but am intrigued to guage opinion?

Wonder if you are still looking at this, I too would be interested. I am very un-GF however....a friend of mine is ultra GF. If it helps her two year old does not appear to night wake particularly unless they are staying in unfamiliar surroundings.

I'm a GF user sort of. Not a complete fan as too many rules like curtains and blackout blinds - we can't do those in ouor house. she also doesn't account for doing the school run but My 4 1/2 month ds has now slept 5 nights through for 12 hours. always ensured had plenty of food at regularish intervals and did follow the sleep patterns but too suit my life style. Also did the same with DD 7 years ago and she only wakes with a good reason i.e falling out of bed, cramp etc. Not very strict on following her routine but used her thinking as a guide and quite good as reference book. Perhaps she just needs easing into a routine that goes with your new one re work and reassuring. She could of course be testing you they are all far more intelligent than we give them credit for.
