Sobbing type noises while asleep

Advise please. DD is 17 weeks, today I was trying to get her off for a nap and she was getting really grizzly, to the point she got hysterical and sobbing, she eventually went off but all the time she was sleep she was making this funny noise.

The only way I can describe it is this, you know when you have been crying, really crying and then you stop but you still sob like you are catching your breath ? Well like that. She did that about every minute or so the whole time she was asleep. Now tonight I put her down at 7pm after a long feed, she went straight off to sleep then woke up and cried (just normal grizzling not hysterical crying) at 8pm, so DP went up and did shush pat and he noticed that she was doing it again, she has now been asleep since 8.15pm and is still doing it !

Any ideas, we are not overly concerned but as this is our first are wondering if it continues should we get her checked by Doc, it only seems to happen when she is asleep.

I've seen my friend's little boy do this when he's fallen asleep after a prolonged bout of sobbing. Maybe it's just a sort of physical carry-over?

Thanks cyteen thats what I thought, however she wasn't really sobbing tonight, though I suppose crying could still induce this. DP is more concerned than me and keeps checking her every 20 minutes.
