worth persevering with dreamfeed?

My BF 5 month old is on solids but still wznting 2 night feeds. I've not done dreamfeeding before but tried it at 10 last night and it made no difference. Is it worth persevering? Is it likely to take a few days to have any effect? I wasn't sure how much she was getting as she was effectively suckling in her sleep. Should I try waking her properly? Don't like waking her up but I think it would be nice to get her down to one night feed and then hopefully when she's on more solids she will drop that one. Also planning to move her into the nursery in a few weeks and ideally would like her sleeping through by then so she doesn't have to yell for food in the middle of the night. Any advice welcome!

I kept it up for three weeks, and all I achieved was that ds started expecting it and waking up about 10.30pm for his 'dream'feed...

Not to say it won't work for yours, but it certainly didn't help mine. He still got up at 4am for - yet another - full feed.

Hi
My daughter is 3 months old and when she was younger, a bottle of formula given by husband/mum/mother-in-law helped to stop her waking at midnight and instead go until 2pm but now it makes no difference whatsoever - she still wakes at 2pm, even with a bottle or BF dreamfeed at 10pm. I wish it worked for her but the Gina Ford theory does not seem to work with mine. She still wakes at 2am and 5am. Which I think is normal at her age??
