Hi, my first post. My 12week old will settle and sleep well at night, often sleeping from 1930 to 0300. She has a dummy and goes to sleep well on her own and will settle herself after her 1 nightime feed. However the daytime is a different matter entirely! I can sometimes get her to sleep by rocking or stroking otherwise I take her out in the car or pram but unless I keep on the move she will only sleep for 1 sleep cycle, 30-40 mins and I cant settle her again. I try to put her down before she gets overtired but as it can take so long to get her to sleep she ends up becoming overtired! I cant understand why she sleeps so well at night but cannot sleep in the day! Help!

My 6 months old was - and is - the same. Three daytime naps of 30 minutes only. BUT (and here's the key), she sleeps 12 hours straight at night, 6:30 to 6:30, wakes for a feed, then goes back to sleep until about 8am.

Depending on how much sleep your LO is getting at night, perhaps she just doesn't need that much during the day?

Both of mine have only had 30/40min naps in the day until they were a bit older - prob about 9mths. If she is happy and is sleeping well at night, try not to get stressed by naps. Easy to say I know!

You could be describing my dd by the way. Felt like I spent the first 4mths or so of her life trying to get her to sleep. Did my head in. But it passes

I often used the car for naps just to keep my sanity intact.
