I am sure that this topic has been covered and covered. Our 8 month old slept right through from 7 weeks until October. Since then he has had Bronchilitus and the Winter Vomitting bug. He is well now (well has a cold) and has a good BT routine. He goes to sleep on his own no probs but wakes when he comes into his lighter sleep between midnight and 2am. He wont now settle unless we cuddle him. We tried crying down last night and he screamed for two hours without a break. We picked him up in the end. There was no pattern of crying up and then down as per the book we have and no mention of how long that we should leave him to scream before going to him. In a wierd sort of way its nice to know that we are not alone though i wouldnt wish it on anyone. Any ideas on crying down? Thanks

Tis normal I think.

Both mine slept through, then didn't. I just ride with it until they settle down in the belief that they wake-ep for a reason.

My DS2 is now nearly 8 months and wakes up for a feed around 2am and I feed or cuddle him. I know that eventually he'll stop.

Things are a lot easier with DS2 because we co-sleep. I never did it with DS1 and it was much harder work.

IMO, much easier to either cuddle or feed or whatever they need when they wake to settle them more quickly and easily
