Daytime Sleepies!! Arrrgghhh

Our 8 month old DS is being a pain with his daytime naps, basically he won't take them.

He has always tried to fight sleep, but up to recently his vibrating chair and a sleep sheep has put him to sleep.

He sleeps well overnight (thankfully), going to bed at 7:30pm and sleeping mostly till 7am except for his "dream feed" at 11pm.

However, daytime is a different matter. He tends to skip all naps except for one right after his lunch (and he will fight that one). His lunch nap is usually an hour to an hour and a half (about 13 hours sleep total then).

The main issue is that as he is now cruising, when he gets tired he starts slipping and falling over, collecting all sorts of bruises in the process.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can encourage him to sleep in the daytime?

Unfortunately we've always had to use 'bad habits' to get our 12 mo to nap - he's never gone to sleep on his own without help. So I feed to sleep or drive to sleep everyday. It's not so bad now he's down to one nap a day.
When he was little I'd rock him in the pram in the kitchen or he'd fall asleep out and about in the pram/pushchair too.
Tbh I think 1.5 hrs naps which you're getting is good going and there might not be anymore to be had

Mine didn't do them with any length or regularity (and he slept badly in car and pushchair) till he was 14 months! Have no idea what changed except he started walking. He still has 2-3 hours every day and he is almost 3.

Sorry its no actual help but may give you hope!
