My 16 mth old wont sleep

Please help, my 16 month old dd will not go to sleep (day or night) she just stands at the cot and screams until she is gagging, im trying cc but even after she has fallen asleep she still wakes around 1am screaming and crying, last night it lasted 2 1/2 hrs, even then she woke at 6 and the same thing happens again. my dh works permanent nights so im on my own,

Is she in your room?

sorry had to go last night as dd started crying again, she is not in my room, the wierd thing is she has always been a good sleeper, its just the last couple of months that she has started this.
