My Ds is nearly 6 months, he used to go to bed at 19.30, bf before then wake 2300,2 and 5 ish to be fed again. Which was really knackering but could cope with.

He has now still going to bed at 1930 but wakes 20 minutes later crying, i have tried the last few night shushing him but nothing works and i end up feeding him again by 2100 as i can't listen to him cry any longer.

I just cannot figure out why this has started, i have started weaning today. Should i just keep feeding every hour, i just don't know at the mo

Could he be teething?

chocohead · 26/11/2009 21:06

maybe, i fed him at 2030 and he kept rubbing the side of his head just behind his ear. IIRC i think this can be a sign.

It is just after he has fed a couple of times he does settle, that is why i think its strange, i just feel so unsure and having one of them feeling like a rubbish mum moments !

well, if he settles after feeding i would say he is just hungry.

go with it, he'll probably revert back at some point

I think grabbing their ears could be a sign yes.Have you noticed anything else?

Did this start happening the same time as you started weaning? Otherwise maybe he is still hungry, have you tried feeding him more at his last feed?

Don't feel rubbish tho, baby's change (DH LOVES to keep telling me that!)

his cheeks keep going red and hot every now and then so maybe they are on the move.

I think maybe he is still hungry but seem to have problems getting my let down to come in on them last feeds then my supply seems to improve through the night. Fingers crossed as he gets more solids he may feel more satisfied.

Thanks for the advice

Yeah maybe the teeth are moving around a bit, apparently their gums hurt more when they are lying down btw.
Teething powder works a treat when it's uncomfortable for them. DS loves it and even calms down now when he sees me open the packet

Good luck and hope the solids work
