Help 8 month old waking 2x a night

Hi my ds is waking again in the night. I know its been hot so done mind but now getting cooler again. He is crawling up the bed down the bed. Rolling over getting his legs stuck arms stuck. so waking him self up. How do you stop him moving. was in fleecy sleeping bag with arms he couldnt move so much but now to hot. Tried cotton sleeping bag no arms but didnt like it. please please help just not used to it any more

sure he's not teething too? my ds is the same - going to bed in vest only - but getting cold at 3am and waking up or put blanket over him at 11pm but then he gets tangled up in it! am just perservering till cooler weather and get back into grobag. have got fan on and may well invest in an air cooler too.

my baba is just wearing a sleepsuit and a thin blanket over her as she would be too ratty if she was wrapped in it as she is a hot baba (takes after her dad)

Ditto my DS (7.5 mths). Gets arms, legs, head stuck between the bars. Am still up a couple of times a night to 'detangle' him.

I have borrowed my mums travel cot and I think I might put him in there to sleep tonight to see if it makes a difference, he can't get anything stuck in there.

I can't use a sleeping bag with him. HIs room is south facing and regularly 30 degrees when he goes to bed.

I've just been trawling through e-bay trying to find a summer weight grobag, as my dd (7.5 months) is doing the same. Even with the window open and a fan on all night, her room was still 28 degrees last night (and it's north facing!) We're in Kent, think it's the hottest part of the country! She's currently going to bed in just a nappy with a thin blanket over her.

I think I'll try and commission a grobag with just sheet material - even summer tog gro bag would be too warm I think!

I second that please make them. well at least when im up detangling i know im not alone. let me know if travel cot works. have one of those too. hope we all get some sleep night night

YOu can get a summer weight sleeping bag from Grobag which is NOT the towelling sort. Think it might be 0.5 tog. That with nothing underneath would be the same as a cotton sheet wouldn;t it?

I'm going to look for one as the lightest one we have is 2.5 tog. though I thought about doctoring a pillowcase to use instead.

we put DS to bed in just nappy, and then when we go to bed and room is a bit cooler, we put him in 0.5 tog grobag (just cotton)

he could be thirsty because of the weather and just want a drink of milk/water

he could be teething too if he is waking and crying - nelson teetha powders work a treat

0.5 tog available at mothercare and blooming marvelous - not sure where else

Don't know if this'll help any but our ds is in a 0.5 tog sleeping bag (from kiddycare on the web) and just his nappy. As his room is still hot (south facing, gets the sun all day) we have a little fan on near his cot to keep the area cool (but far enough away so he can't get his fingers caught in it). Also use blackout blinds and thick curtains over the window. This helps keep most of the heat out of the room as well as making it pitch black.

PS. The sleeping bag is without arms too. Kiddycare sometimes do but one get the second half price and I find it's always worth having two the same so one can be "in the wash" whilst the other's being used.

I've just ordered a 0.5 tog off internet for ds. bugger it - can't be bothered to make one!

As for the tangled arms and legs i used and old bed sheet and stitched it in a loop and put it round the cot with the mattress on top of it so side bars were covered, worked a treat, also if a dark colour aids in the dark and sleepytime theme.

My 8 month old ds does this too. I've given upon gro bags because they seemed to make it worse. If he's in a gro bag he gets cross because he can only move a little bit and sometimes gets stuck and tangled up in the gro bag when he's rolling over. If he's just in a sleep suit or a vest (depending how warm it is) he can move around if he wants to and doesn't seem to get stuck (or frustrated). I put a blanket on him when I go to bed and move him if he's all squished up at the top of his cot (which happens most nights). He's also started banging his head against the top of the cot - total nightmare!
