Is this too much sleep?

Firstly I apologise in advance to all you poor things that are desperate fora good nights sleep - I do realise I am extremely lucky that DS sleeps so well.

You are probably giong to think I am mad but I am starting to worry a little bit that he is sleeping too much! DS has always slept well at night, but used to hardly sleep at all during the day but that seems to have sorted itself too. He is 9 months now and typically will go down at 7pm and sleep until about 7-7.30am. He then has about 2 hours at about 9.30 and then another 45 minutes in the afternoon which means he is getting 15 hours+ a day. Sometimes, its even more than that - last night he slept 7.30-8.30 and he's now been asleep for 2.5 hours so far...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaning at all, but I'm just a bit worried there is something wrong that he needs so much sleep as the books seem to suggest he should be having about 13 hours.

Otherthan that when he is awake he seems fine and is alert and full of enery and he eats really well. He does have a tendancy to be sick randomly but I think that is due to a slight milk intolerance.

Does it sound like I have anything to worry about? I'm so sorry for being neurotic

enjoy it!

as long as he is alert, developing well etc then all is fine

Do not worry at all, this is perfect. My DS1 didn't need as much sleep as this but DS2 slept more than you describe (he had two naps 2-3 hours each in the daytime and 12 hours at night. Everyone is different. Sounds like your boy is fine

it is fine. At that age mine still had 2 two hours naps in the day and slept through the night for about 11 hours (bliss - make the most of it ).
