My 6 month old dd has started waking in the evening having slept through 7-7 (with 10pm dream feed) for about 3 months. This seems to have been since a chest infection (now gone for about 1.5 weeks. She has 3 naps 1 at 9am for about 30mins one at 12pm for an hour and a half to 2 hours and a cat nap of around 20-30mins around 4pm. She is put in her cot in dark with dummy at 7 and almost immediately drops off only to wake at 7.45, 8, 8.15 etc until about 9.45 where she stops waking or I have given in and brought her downstairs (not often). She occ wakes during night (in bedside cot) but dummy replaced goes off for rest of night. I know this probably doesnt seem too bad if your child doesnt sleep during the wee small hours but I work some evenings and I cant get a sitter until I have sorted this out...Also creating havoc with my knitting and admin. Didnt have this problem with dd1 or ds. Will it just improve and I should suck it up or should I be proactive?

Mine is similar. Sometimes it is wind. I've also started weaning so wonder if it is just her digestive system grumbling a bit and keeping her awake.

I have also been wondering whether to drop the 4pm nap. She has missed it occasionally when she's had a good lunchtime sleep and not been too tired by bedtime.

Whether she sleeps through is still very hit and miss - she sometimes wakes for her dummy sometimes not.

Hi Mrsjuan, I have decided to avoid tea to see if is digestion and have given a full milk feed. However just as began writing this heard a shriek from upstairs DH has gone to investigate. I also dropped 4 pm sleep today and late lunch nap only lasted half an hour so we will see. Good luck
