Hi all,

I'm looking for help for my sister who is having trouble with her 23 week old ds. He wakes every 1 to 2 hours at night and just screams until she puts him on the breast to comfort him. She let him cry solidly for over an hour last night, but he wouldn't settle. I can't really help as our dd slept well from 12 weeks after being moved to formula. Can anyone offer any advice or help so that she can get a few hours of consecutive sleep? Her dh won't let ds go to in laws for the night as is worried this will reflect badly on him! So that option is out.
Thanks xx

Hi there,
we have been using settling down techniques by Tracy Hogg (The Babywhisperer) and this worked for us. We started when our LO was about 4 months and 3 weeks. You say shush shush shush while patting them on the back in the same 3 times rhythm. But it is best to get the book and read about the technique properly. You can also go to www.babywhisperer.com. If the shush pat does not work you have to use the pick up put down technique also described there.
