Would you? my DD is only 12 weeks old, but has been sleeping a lot over the past few days. For example, she went to bed at 7.30 last night, and is still asleep now (dream feed at 10, woke at 2,6 and 8 for feeds but goes straight back to sleep). yesterday, she slept for 2 1/2 hours during the morning and about 3 hours in the afternoon.
I am unused to sleeping babies, DD1 was not a sleeper! Is this a normal amount of sleep at this age, should i be trying to settle her into a pattern of night sleep and naps? I have to confess to not really being a routine person, she has a vague bedtime routine only so i can sort DD1 as well.

I would let her sleep. I found my dcs would sleep a lot if they were a bit under the weather, maybe she's fighting off something and so her body's sleeping to help with that...or she may just be a big sleeper! Ds3 slept a LOT and still does - often have to wake him to do school runs and on odd occasion when dh has taken others to school ds (2yrs) has slept on until 9am (after normal bed at 7pm)!!
Enjoy the peace - she's only tiny and obviously needs the sleep!

thanks, displayuntil.. She has slept a lot again today but is now lying awake but quiet in her cot. not really sure what is going on but will see how she goes.
I am constantly amazed at how different she is to her sister!

olivo - you probably wouldn't be thinking about it that much if it wasn't for fact your dd1 was so different!!!
Glad she's getting the rest - and hopefully you're not using the time to do anything mad like housework??!!!
