Cranial Osteopaths in Bristol?

Hi,

Can anyone PLEASE recommend a cranial osteopath in Bristol/Bath/Taunton area? I really don't see how they can work, but after almost 14mths of no sleep we are desperate! If anyone can give me the name of an osteopath who can prove me wrong and get my son to sleep I would be so so very grateful!

I have not tried any here in Bristol and perhaps someone else will come along, but I know there is one at the Chiron centre in Westbury on Trym as I had booked DS there (but I cancelled as sleep improved)

If you dont have luck with that one then I use a guy called Martyn who works at The Fishponds Practice in Bristol. He specialises in babies. Friends have used Dominique Kerr but Im not sure where she works from though.

Good luck, Im sure you will all eventually be getting some sleep.

Bump as I am looking for one for my 12 day ds after a very difficult birth. has anyone used round Bristol and it worked?

LittleMilla · 10/03/2012 14:11

I have been seeing Martyn (pretty sure it'll be the same chap as above) at The Family Practice on Gloucester Rd: www.osteopathybristol.com/.

My DS has been having it on his foot, but Martyn did a bit of cranial a few weeks ago when DS was really whingy. And I think we're the only ones at the children's clinic that aren't there for cranial!

I was cynical before going, now I am a true convert. And Martyn is very lovely - calm and gentle, the babies seem to love him!

Forgot to add. Yes, we have seen some real improvement - would certainly recommend.

Theres a brilliant practice on The Bath Road in Bristol - we saw someone called Laura there.

We go to Jeni Briggs at the Centre for Whole Health in Bedminster. She's awesome! She has (deep breathe) regulated DD's poos, untensed her arms and legs, helped her nap in the day and, most importantly, stopped her from shouting/screaming/grunting/huffing/flapping in her sleep. I was so sceptical about the whole thing but am a complete convert. The sleep thing was brilliant - I thought we were going to have to put her in her own room really early but now we're all sleeping happily and quietly together (except my snoring DH, but he refuses to go to CO to sort it)!

Crazybit · 13/03/2012 23:15

Thanks everyone. What are prices like?

TrinaW · 14/03/2012 07:24

Jeni is £37 for a 40 min session. We had 5 in total, but over a two and a half month period so not necessarily every week.

I thought it was expensive at first, but now think she was worth every penny and never felt like she was ripping us off or that she didn't have DD's best interests at heart.

£35 for half an hour. Again, we don't go every week and they're good and telling you how often you need to go, so I haven't felt ripped off. We go every 2 weeks

Hi

I have used a Guy called Bevis Nathan who is based in Bath here. He saw both my girls at 2 weeks and again at 16 weeks. Both girls were born very fast and shocked so sleep wasn't great. He said to bring them back when I felt they needed it but never pressurised us to go more often.

I saw Peter Cockhill at Stilpoint in Bath and he was great with me and know loads who found him fantastic with their babies.
