DS will be 6 in November. Has been going to bed a bit later in the holidays but is generally asleep by about 8pm. Wakes up around 7 to 7:30am when it is school time.

dd2 (turned 6 in August) - lights off at 9 pm

sounds late I know, but she's fine

Go to bed or go to sleep?

Because the answer will vary depending on which it is.

DD is also 6 in November, and is on her way to bed by 7:30pm and hopefully asleep by 8pm. We've just moved her times half an hour later so she gets a bit of 'grown-up' time after DS (16mo) has gone to bed. I'm waiting with bated breath to see if it all hangs together during term time.

DD1 6 goes to bed at 7pm. Later in the hols but she really needs her sleep!

Ok, DS is 6 and a half and goes to bed around 7:30 and then reads until about 9 on most nights, but I couldn't say for sure as once he closes his door I don't go back in there to check until before I go to bed when he's always asleep with the lights off.

I know he will often read a whole Tintin book or chapter book before going to sleep though, but nothgin I can do about that really.

DD has been going to bed at 7pm. She shares a room with her brother who has just turned 4 and is about to start school. He most def does and will need to be in bed by 7pm but if they go to bed together they can (not always) mess about and keep each other awake.

Towards the end of last term we delayed her bedtime until 7.30pm but she still sometimes went to bed and couldn't fall asleep easily. She is regularly awake by 06.45am but doesn't need to get up until 7.30am. So I was wondering about delaying her bedtime until 8pm.

Just wanted to see what the majority of 6 year olds did.

dd is almost 6. Her story time finishes at 7.40pm and then she goes to the toilet, back to bed and it is lights off time. She is up any time from 6.45 to 8am (not often 8am I have to say and never at the weekend!!). DS (nearly 3) is in bed and lights off for around 7.20/7.30pm.
