Wriggling and getting stuck in cot

My 11 month old has started wriggling around in his cot at night. He turns through 90 degrees and gets himself jammed cross-ways. Then he cries until we free him again. It's becomming a 4am habit and we all take ages to go back off. He doesn't get a cuddle or any conversation, so he's not doing it for the attention. He wriggles slightly less in a sleeping bag, so we put him in one most nights (unless its too hot).

Can anyone suggest anything that might help?

All I can say to help (other than to use a sleeping bag which you already are doing) is that it's probably just a short phase. DD did this for a couple of weeks but stopped when she worked out how to un-jam herself.

Same here, DD did this for a couple of weeks and then stopped. Sleeping bag worked well to stop her getting her leg stuck, you can get 1tog ones when it's hot.
