Oh bloody hell now I'm dreading bedtime...

Ds (17mo) never been great sleeper,usually wakes at least once,however past 3 nights has made it to 6-6.30 ish (hoooooray!)

however we've been having some meltdowns at bed and nap time-full on hysteria and screaming 'mummy cuddle!!!' endlessly.

Last night brought him downstairs and when he saw pushchair kept saying 'sleep in pushchair yeah' and in the end put him in and he went tosleep, tho was really jumpy while settling.

Think he's desperate to be near me but also could be getting molars,has all other teeth but has been jamming hands in mouth (also asking forcalpol but think he just likes it)

he's in bath now (dp up there) am trying to approach bedtime calmly but feel stressed already aaargh

There's some unwritten second separation anxiety phase in the latter half of the first year. I don't know why none of the books mention it.

Thanks for the reply ches, that was kind of what both me and dp thought it seemed like.dp says it's like ds has just realised that once ds is asleep i go away.

Also think he is not v happy in the cot anymore.last night I had to bend right over the bars to cuddle him til he slept!cot doesn't have drp sides. So was rather painful...bed arriving next week and then we can have much more cuddly bedtime!

Bad night last night as he was really hard to settle and up at 2,ended up thrashing about in our bed.have decided to blame the heat for that...
