DD1 returned to our bed when she broke her leg but there is not enough room for 4 now as she takes up the most space.

It would really help me out if he can put her to bed with minimal stress. He is a wuss at listening to her being upset and goes to extremes from pandering to her whims to making laughable threats.

Sounds like she is playing him like a concert piano. I would go out with your DD2 at bedtime every night for a week and let him figure it out.

Pre-empt everything;

PJs on
Snack after PJs
Small drink of water when cleaning teeth
Toilet straight after teeth/drink
Fav teddy on pillow
Nightlight on
Door ajar/open/closed
Story/chat
Snuggle and kisses

Then that is it no excuses, no whinges, back to bed with no chatter every time she leaves the room.

Make sure he tells her what is going to happen before he starts the first evening and sticks to it. She is older so she will test it, stick with it.
