nasty dreams

DS (3) has started having a recurrent dream about a big witch 'stomping' on our house and squashing us all.

He sometimes wakes at night and tells me about the dream, but often will go back to sleep fine. the problem is bedtime - he doesn't want to go to sleep because of the dream.

Any ideas to help?

What about a dream catcher? It's an aboriginal idea (I think.) I used it with my ds's when they were smaller to 'catch' all the bad dreams before they went to sleep.

Yes you can make them - do a search there might be one on cbeebies.

My ds (3.5) has pyjamas with dinosaurs all over them and, if he wakes up with bad dreams, we agree that T Rex and friends won't let the crocodile/monster/whatever other gremlin hurt him. And, if it's a dinosaur assailant then they'll just play together.
