Thats what DD sleeps she is 17.5 months. She was doing 13-14 hours at night and 2-3 hours in the afternoon but the last week she has been more like 12 hours at night and 2 hours during day but she is teething her bottom molars at the moment so I hope she goes back to sleeping a little longer soon.

Castiel · 11/05/2009 19:08

Growth spurt maybe?

2yr old dd gave up napping at 13mo and sleeps around 13hrs at night.

bumbly · 11/05/2009 19:09

thsnk you very much for your reply!

just makes day really odd as he wakes up 5:30 form nap so needs three hours or so to get tired again ..bed 8:30-9 means wakes up 8-9 am

etc

and have always been stuck at homer as want him to sleep (am strict about this - nap best in bed) but now really stuck at home!

never naps well outside so i have taken decvision to stay home so he naps well but wow - a lot of time indoors!!!

not worried just curious and making remarks that is all

thanks again for reply

yes could be growth spurt...also perhaps suddenly talking means needs more brain sleep...dunno?

he had bumped head hard last weekend but gp refused to see him since said nothing concrete there..and a week down just sleeping lots but when not sleeping his usual self apart form being a bit more bossy

DD goes to bed at 6.30-7 and wakes at 7ish (used to be 8ish) then we get up and wear her out till after lunch at toddlers/library/running in the garden. Then I put her to bed around 12-1 and she wakes at 2-3 then back into the garden to run her ragged before bath and bed.
Could you slowly adjust his times so its easier to get out as a toddler at home all day is enough to drive you mad!!!!

bumbly · 11/05/2009 19:16

think in fact today ahve gone mad see toher thread

Some days it don't matter what you do. Maybe he's teething or having a growth spurt. We all have days like that. in fact I had a faternoon from hell with DD but I am 3 days overdue for DC 2 so maybe thats why I wasn't coping.

Madigan · 11/05/2009 21:02

My 21 month old sleeps 12 hours at night and naps for 2 hours during the day; I have to wake her from her 2 hour nap ..... some of he rlittle friends have stopped napping, but she LOVES her nap and often tells me it is time for bed at around 1 pm!!!

flowerybeanbag · 11/05/2009 21:04

DS will be 2 this week, he has about 10 hours overnight and 1.5 - 2 hours in the afternoon.

snickersnack · 11/05/2009 21:13

Make the most of it!
ds has just dropped his daytime sleep at 22 months - he dropped other daytime sleeps quite early, and was becoming very difficult to settle at night, plus was mega grumpy when he woke up. Now he goes to sleep just after 7 and sleeps until 6.30-7. Sometimes he wakes and has a little chat to himself around 5.30am but goes back to sleep.

preggersplayspop · 11/05/2009 21:18

My DS is nearly 2. He has about 10 hours overnight also, with 1.5 to 2 hours nap from about 1pm. He wakes around 5.30 each morning and its a struggle to get him to sleep at night before 8pm. He has never slept more than about 10 hours at night and was a terrible napper during the day until he got down to just the one nap.

Having said that, he missed his usual nap yesterday, and went off at 4pm then slept on and off until the morning.

He has never slept through [yawn].

Am at the people with 13 hours at night!

fannybanjo · 11/05/2009 21:20

DD2 is 20 months and sleeps 13/14 hours at night and 2 hours during the day!

preggersplayspop · 11/05/2009 21:36

I think its best if I leave this thread now!

Bumbly, my Dc3 is 2 on Saturday, she sleeps alway 2-3 hrs after lunch 5I have to wake her around 4pm) and is back in bed by 7pm for 13hrs. She sleeps that long I'm sure to get away from her brother and sister.....

MmeJaffaB · 11/05/2009 21:41

Clearly it's me who needs more sleep so I can type better. Or I could remember to preview next time.

jkklpu · 11/05/2009 21:42

18mo ds2 sleeps 10 hours at night, 1 hour after breakfast and 1.5hrs in the afternoon. Roll on a longer night-time sleep, or at least one that goes beyond 5 am ...

BettySwollux · 11/05/2009 21:48

DS2 20mo sleeps 7-7(ish) at night, and nap is 11.30-1.30(ish) .

HeadFairy · 11/05/2009 21:52

ds (20 months) sleeps about 7/7.30 to about 7am and then has two hours if we can manage it in the late morning/lunchtime. Depending on what time he got up and how well he slept the night before he'll have his nap anywhere from 10am to midday and he'll sleep usually 2 hours though he can manage on less, but he's a bit grumpy at bedtime.

ilovetochat · 11/05/2009 21:52

dd sleeps 9 hours at night and 2 hrs in day, would love her to sleep longer at night.

PeppermintPatty · 11/05/2009 21:53

DD is 23 months and usually sleeps 12 hours at night and 1.5 - 3 hours after lunch, depending on how tired she is.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 11/05/2009 22:08

DS (18 months) has just started upping his nap time to about 3- 3 1/2 hours late morning/ lunchtime. He usually sleeps around 11/12 hours at night from 7 ish till 6.30 ish.
