My dd is 22 months, I am thinking about putting her in a bed - what do you think?? My ds stayed in his cot until he was nearly 3.

Up to you - do you mind her being in a cot? Is she happy? If you'd rather she went into a bed, give it a go but if you'd rather delay the in and out and up and down of settling child in bed, then leave it a bit.
My ds1 climbed out of his cot at 17mths and had to go in a bed then, other 2 stayed in til about 12mths then climbed out and ds4 went into a bed at 20mths as he quite simply didn't have enough room in the cot anymore and was gettinc cross about it.
There's no right or wrong age, it's how you feel about it really and how happy your dd is.

dd1 went in to a cot at 2, and I wish we had left it a bit longer.

dd2 went in to hers at 22 months (we spent every night trying to get her out of her sisters!) and she loves it.

I put my daughter into her own bed when she was 15 months old. My family around me said that it was too early... I decided to do this, because we had moved into a new house and she was going to have a new room. I was worried that if I keep her in her cot, it will means that later on, I would have to get her use to go into her own bed. It was the best decision I made, although it was hard at first as she kept coming out and ending up sleeping on the floor. The best advise is when you decide to make the transition, remove everything in the room that you don't really want her to reach... then let her discover her room... you may need to go and see her a few times to tell her to go back in bed... but once she gets it, it will be great.. Good luck!

we tried dd at 2.4 but it was a nightmare. she asked to have a bed 2 months later and its gone fine.
we would have probabl;y left her a bit lo9nger but expecting no 2 and didnt want her to associate moving out with being pushed out!

DD was 2 and a half but by this time she was climbing out getting a book and climbing back in so we guessed she was probably ready, we did try at 2 but it was too much hassle.

My daughter was 2 and a half and we got her a toddler bed because i'm neurotic and was convinced she was going to fall out and hurt herself...its been a great wee bed (its only a few inches off the ground, so when she did fall out there was no damage done)...shes 4 now and will be moving into her 'big' bed in a few months time, now that i'm happy she won't fall out every night.
