Quick survey - How old were your DC when you moved them from a cot to a bed and how did it go?

I'm in doubt about whether I should move DD (17 months) to a bed this week or not. It'd be great to hear how old other peoples DC were and how it went. Anyone care to indulge me?

My DS was 2.6 and DD1 2.6.I think thats quite late, but IME its better not to rush it,unless they are climbing,as it can be awkward.

Both went ok as with a cot side on the bed,for quite a while they didn't figure how to get out, also both were good sleepers so slept well.

DD2 has just gone into a bed aged 2.5,in our wisdom she has gone into a bottom bunk with DD1 in the top.

This was awful even after the expected excitement died down after a few days.So we have staggered their bedtimes by an hour (DD2 at 6.30pm,and DD1 at 7.30pm)and put a stairgate on the door to deter DD2 from "wandering". This is working really well.

I moved DS at 2 and it was a nightmare
He got out of bed constantly for what seemed like months

I am considering moving DD who is just over 2 as she now won't settle in her cot

ds was 2.5 years when we moved him to a big boy bed. He has never left the bed or tried to get out his room - he has been in the new bed for a few weeks now.
