My ds is 16 months old and has never been a brilliant sleeper, but OK. However, for the last couple of months he has been repeatedly waking at night (the record was 19 times on Saturday!) He does not cry for long - we find him stood up in his cot (often still apparently asleep, but crying?) all we have to do is lie him back down in his cot and he will generally fall straight back asleep. If he is awake for longer we use controlled crying and this is generally successful. Any ideas as to the reason behind this and any tactics - I'm not generally good as just ignoring him (unlike dh who can apparently sleep through the proverbial earthquake )but at this point in time will try anything!
