Co-slept with DS1 until he was 3 but didn't start until he was 9 months old. Now have a 7 week old baby and obviously it's quite different to sleeping with a big one and I have a few safety concerns.

When I first go to bed with DS2 I lie down with him still cradled in the crook of my arm. I sleep on my side facing him and he is either on his back or side. I have the whole bed to myself and have the duvet on it diagonally so my legs are covered and the edge of it goes over my non baby cuddling arm. Baby has his own blanket.

I'm happy with all of this but am concerned that when I feed him I move my arm from under him so we are just lying next to each other and then I drift off to sleep like that and feel like I'm leaving him unprotected. I've never turned my back on but have occasionally woken up on my back. Does this sound OK?

yes, that's fine IMO

Fine. You can google for guidelines but no duvet on or near him, nobody else next to him, no hole between the bed and wall for him to slip down, no drinking, no drugs, do not do if you're exhausted off the top of my head.
