PU/PD with 16mo twins. At the same time or get one sorted first??!!!

I have 16mo boy/girl twins who, up until a month ago were fairly good sleepers (would go into cot awake and get themselves asleep, some night-time waking but easy to settle). They sleep in the same room (not ours). About a month ago we all got an awful cold/chest infection, they wouldn't/couldn't sleep, so we ended up cuddling them to help them sleep. Needless to say they love this, now they are better they want it to continue!

We are all exhausted and I would like to try PU/PD, but wondered if anyone had done it with twins? Did you try and do them at the same time, or get one sorted and then the other? If you did this, did you move one out temporarily while doing the first! Hope someone can help......?

BTW, they don't always wake each other up when crying but do sometimes.

Thanks!!

Are you sure they aren't starting to work on their molars?

I did PU/PD with a 22 month old 30 lb boy over Christmas and by the second day my stomach muscles ached. I imagine doing it with twins will have the same effect. Maybe get DH to do it to work on his 6-pack?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I guess I should have said that I am doing the PD bit of it only, which is what is recommended in the Babywhisperer book for this age! But yes even that is hard work if you have to do it enough (24lbs and 22lbs respectively).

DS is starting work on his molars and DD has some front teeth coming through - do you think this means that PD won't work at the moment? . We did actually start doing PD with DS a few nights ago as I thought we all really needed to get back to some normality and he seems to have responded well to it (at the moment......).

I guess I just want to know if I have missed a trick by not starting DD at the same time - but it just seemed like too overwhelming to do all them at the same time, especially as the BW book says to remove all distractions from the room when you are doing it - they distract each other!

DH doesn't really have a 6-pack, more like half a shandy
