ds usually naps 1-3pm - but today he's only gone down at 3.15pm. When should I wake him? 1 hour, 2 hours or leave him to wake himself??
Bedtime is usually 7pm.

I wouldn't let him go the whole two hours and I would be flexible about extending bedtime. Ds does things like this occasionally and usually gets back on track the next day.

well - I saw him moving his head a little bit at the one hour mark so went and woke him up. He's in his bath now and we shall see if he goes to sleep at 7!

Good luck, tracyk! Just remember that it may not happen and that's OK too.

did he go to sleep ok?

my ds sometimes has late nap...I let him sleep and nothing change for bedtime/....

I don't think it does affect him anymore at this age...of course...if they don;t sleep all afternoon.....

ds is 9 months

he had a little crying fit as dh took him out of bath and into pjs. but drank alll his milk and then sang to himself for 10 mins or so when we came downstairs. all quiet now tho will take water into his cot later and see how mad his teddies have been flung round the cot!

aww hope hes asleep. I have a general thing of no matter when ds has a nap he is always woken by time it gets to 4.30 ish so even if he falls asleep at 4pm. Only because otherwise he will be up late and it will mess with the whole night time sleep

TracyK · 20/04/2005 08:24

Well he was asleep and surprise surprise - woke up at 6.05am!! why didn't he have an extra hour sleep??
