Living in a one bed flat with a 5 month old baby = no sleep! Any tips?

My partner and I have been having problems getting our 5 month old son to sleep all through the night and it's beginning to take its toll on us! We have a good bedtime regime of bathtime, solids and then milk and he's in bed and asleep by 8pm (which is great!)... but then he's up at 2am/ 4am/ 5am wanting to play and then eventually wanting to be fed.
The best advice i guess would be to put him in his own room - but we live in a one bed flat so we have no other option really! Has anyone had/ or having a similar experience? Any tips? Or is it a matter of sleeping on the sofa in the front room and trying to ignore the cries for attention?

My dd was similar at that age and although she lasted in this phase for a while I think what cured it was keeping night time as dull as poss. So we never did anything too stimulating at night time just either fed, rocked or sang to her in a darkened room.

Hi..exactly the same as you. DS 6 months. 2 weeks ago we started moving our mattress into the living room, pain in the butt but he is now sleeping through 11 hours and I am finally sleeping!!! I was sooo tired and unhappy before. And we are in process of moving, to not such a nice area but we need 2 bedrooms....good luck!
