Toys in cot at naptime - bad idea?

DS is 5.5 months. Naptimes had been okay until ten days ago when I think a combination of teething/growth spurt turned them into an all-out screamathon nightmare.

DH then gave him his two favourite toys when he put him down for naps and after playing with them for 15-20 minutes, he falls asleep. No screaming. The toys are not big enough to be a suffocation risk and not small enough to be a choking risk and I check on him carefully. Does anyone else do this? Am I setting up a bad habit?

No I don't think so. If he falls asleep in 20 minutes it seems to be no problem.
