Hi All,

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 7.3 week old DS and we have started implimenting a sort of bed routine in the last week. i.e. Bath at 6pm then read and feed and then to bed between 7-8pm, its working (for now ) and he is normally asleep by 8pm. However he is not waking until 1am sometimes 2am he even went till 4am the other day after dropping off at 9:30pm. What I want to know is should we be waking him at 11pm or just feeding when he wakes, I am solely breastfeeding and he is doing well, gaining weight etc etc. He wakes about 5am and then up for about 7:30am.

Hope this makes sense!!!

Let him sleep! If he needs more milk, he'll let you know!

Thanks for that I sort of thought that too, it seemed wrong to disturb him when he was so peacefully asleep and he normally lets me know when he needs a feed!!

I have to say I did the opposite, I found my lo (13 weeks) could sleep a good period of time so would feed her at 7ish and put her down for 7.30 then dream feed at 10-11 and she would sleep through to 7ish which was a god send! Having a 2yo in the house up early I appreciated an undisturbed sleep.
I did find that she was better taking an expressed bottle than the breast. I also noticed she was only taking 2-3 oz and my HV suggested seeing what she did without the df and she actually sleeps through now!!
