Mine is 5.5 and goes at 7.30-8pm.

lorne · 25/03/2003 20:24

My ds who is 3.7 went off tonight at 7.15pm and will be up tomorrow morning beteen 6.45am and 7.15am. He did go through a stage a few weeks ago that he wasn't going until nearer 8 but he now seems to be going earlier again.

Whate age are your children?

Claireandrich · 25/03/2003 20:24

My 11 month old Dd goes to bed between 7pm and 7:30pm usually, and sleeps or about 11-12 hours. If I want (need) a lie in she sometimes goes to bed a bit later!!!

Bozza · 25/03/2003 20:41

DS is 2.1 and goes 7.30-7.45 normally - has done since about 6 months although does occasionally creep towards 8.

judetheobscure · 25/03/2003 20:43

My four (ages 7, 5, 3 and 18mths) go to bed between 7 and 8pm in ascending order of age. Before the older two started school they went to bed between 8 and 8.30 but when they needed to be up earlier we moved their bedtimes forward.

Chinchilla · 25/03/2003 20:48

Mine is 20 months. Has bath at 6pm, and then goes to bed once he is ready. If still full of beans, he sits with dh on our bed and watches some tv until he is more tired. He's usually in bed by 7pm, even if not asleep. He usually wakes up at 7.30am, although the least few mornings have been a bit too early.

spacemonkey · 25/03/2003 20:53

my two (11 and 9) start getting ready for bed at 8.30, a bit later at weekends. In bed at 9 with Harry Potter on CD which never fails to send em off to sleep!

megg · 25/03/2003 21:30

My ds is 3.4 and goes to bed between 7 and 7.30pm depending on who is putting him to bed. He will then wake up between 6.30 and 7.30am.

Angiel · 25/03/2003 21:40

My 5 yo and 2 yo go to bed at 7 pm and generally get up at around 6 am when their dad goes to work. My 18 mo tends to flake out a bit later and stays downstairs until I go up to bed later.

Lulu41 · 26/03/2003 12:54

My ds goes to bed school nights at 7.30 withtout fail gets to stay up a bit later on Friday/Saturdays. However the keeping him up for a lie in does not work - he is up at 6 - 6.30 every morning no matter what time he goes to bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eefs · 26/03/2003 13:11

I feel a bit negligent here but: my ds (2.5) goes between 8 and 8:30, wakes between 7 and 7:30 and still has a long nap during the day. I work fulltime so I prefer the later bedtime as it gives us a chance to do things together. Otherwise I'd be rushing in to make dinner and put him straight to bed.

BigBird · 26/03/2003 14:07

I'm similar to you eefs, my dd 15 mths goes at 8pm on the dot every night. Wakes from 6:30-7am usually. We get home from work/creche about 5:45. Dinner and play goes on from 6-7 then bath at 7 and bottle at 7:30 and bed at 8.

wog · 26/03/2003 14:30

My ds goes to bed at 7pm and has done so since she was 6 weeks - I used to wake her at 11pm for a feed - but she now sleeps right through until 6.30/7.00am

morocco · 26/03/2003 16:24

Don't be too shocked but my 6 month old goes to bed at 9.30 - 10pm (we work late nights and it seems to work fine). He wakes up at around 8.30. Does anyone else put their kids to bed that late?

oxocube · 26/03/2003 16:52

ds2 is 17 months and goes at 7pm. DD is 5 and goes about 7.30 but is allowed to read/listen to c.ds for half an hour before lights out and ds1 (7) goes about 8ish and reads in our room until he falls asleep (about 9ish usually) and we carry him to his own (shared)bedroom!

oxocube · 26/03/2003 16:54

BTW, Morocco, I don't see any problem with your baby's bedtime. If it works for you, then great. Actually, that is my bedtime !!!!

Lindy · 26/03/2003 17:52

My two year old goes to bed at 7pm & wakes about 6.30am - but is happy to 'read' in his cot for about an hour until I am showered, dressed & ready to face the day - anyone else hate getting showered & dressed with a toddler under foot or am I being 'control freakish'?

lou33 · 26/03/2003 18:02

Morocco, before I had children of school age I used to put mine to bed at that time too. Now they all go to bed at 8.30, the oldest 2 (10 and 6) are allowed to read for a bit though, and the youngest two get into bed with me and listen to some Harry Potter. My youngest is only 2 though, so will sometimes flake out earlier, though generally can manage to stay up long enough to listen to a bit of HP before he falls asleep in my arms . It still sounds late compared to some of you though !

KMG · 26/03/2003 20:44

I know we're different - they need a LOT of sleep. ds2 (nearly 4) goes at 5.45 pm (Gets up at 6.30-7). DS1 (5.5) goes at 6 pm, but reads for half an hour, (Gets up at 7.30 am).

In theory they actually got half an hour later than these times, but recently they've been shattered, so we've put them back half an hour again.

webmum · 26/03/2003 20:56

dd goes usually between 8 and 8,30 and she's up at 6 on the dot everyday, I wonder if she's hidden an alarm clock in her bed......

(the going to bed later or skipping daytime nap doesn't work for us either unfortunately....)

EmmaTMG · 26/03/2003 21:08

Wow KMG, I don't suppose you'd mind swapping kids for a few weeks would you? 5:45....that sounds heavenly, we hardly ever sit down to dinner before then.
My 2 (4yrs and 22 months) go anytime between 7pm and 8:30pm but the little one ALWAYS wakes up at about 6am regardless of what time he goes to bed.
Strangely though I always manage to get them to bed/sleep (and do all the washing/tidying up) closer to 7pm when DH is at on a late shift, if he's here it's always closer to 8:30pm. Surely it should be the other way around......but then again maybe he just gets in the way. Bless him.

Chiccadum · 26/03/2003 21:13

DD1 nearly four goes to bed between 6.30 and 7pm and dd2 1 today, goes to bed at 6pm, we have tried to move dd2's day forward so she goes to bed later but she always gets up at the same time, between 5 and 5.30, so we put her back to bedtime at 6pm

I think I would scream if I had to get up as early as you all seem to, I think it's too early when they wake at 8!! Obviously on schooldays we have to get up earlier than that , but not out of choice. On a weekend I tell them to go back to sleep.

mollipops · 27/03/2003 05:42

lou33, 8 is a huge sleep in for us - weekends only, (well it's a lie in while we listen to them fight!) I agree, KMG's kids sound great...to have the evenings all to yourself would be bliss. morocco my ds sued to be the same, had a very late bedtime as a little one, but we gradually crept it forward til he was going the same time as dd, which is much better for all of us! He is now almost 4, and dd is 6.5 - they both go to bed between 7.30 and 7.45, and wake around 6.30-7, sometimes a bit earlier (and it usually seems to be on weekends!).
