has had a cold & ear infection been to drs to confirm that ears cleared up which it has but for the past few nights he won't settle at bedtime, he gets up straight away and is shouting for mummy or daddy saying wants a hug, not feeling well or wants a drink.
What would you suggest as the best thing to do? tried rapid return but he just got more and more wound up (me too as both me and oh poorly too plus teething baby) so trying to leave him to cry it out but just don't know what to do for the best, we are all sooo shattered just can't think straight at the minute

i've just joined mumsnet as we're having similar problems with our little girl (who'll be four in april) and i'm at my wits end. she's scared of the dark (a new development) so we got a night light hoping that'd calm and reassure her, but in actual fact all the light is doing is keeping her awake; try and turn it off though and she gets v distressed over the dark.

we had possibly the worst night yet last night - from midnight she dozed on and off, at best (so i did likewise) and this morning is complaining of being dizzy. i'm worried it's going to make her ill.

if anyone does have any ideas as to how to deal with it i'd be so grateful.
