please help, 8 month old very hard work baby girl is a terrible sleeper, only stopped feeding at 6 months as she is a very hungry baby, fully weened etc. she won't have a dummy and can't find her thumb and WILL NOT settle unless she is sucking my little finger!! she had a terrible cough and the sickness and squits over Christmas, all bugs have gone but the cough still wakes her up a couple of times during the night. she is waking at the moment about every 1.5 - 2 hours and won't go back to sleep until she sucks on my finger, this is extremely draining and putting a massive strain on everything (marriage included) because she just won't sleep and then she is grotty in the day because she is pooped. we have tried a couple of times with control crying but she just gets into such a state (and so do I!) and we have a nearly 5 year old aswell that we don't want waking up. can anybody give me any suggestions please, any advice would be gratefully received!!! thank you.

I'm no help, I'd let her sleep in with me if its the only way she'll sleep, good luck

if she wants to suck on something give her a dummy

thanks, she won't take her dummy, she does come in with us quite a bit but trying to stop that, I don't mind her in with me but husband thinks she should be in her own cot

she should be in her cot, but as we know we all need sleep and if letting her in gets you that sleep then I'd let her in

its very hard I know, esp with 2 kids

If DH thinks she should be in her own cot, let DH spend the night convincing her.
