Taking the side of the cot.

We are going to take the side of DS1's cot at the weekend. Part of me thinks we are mad and part of me thinks it needs doing.

He is 21 months old and sleeps really well. When he wakes up he tries to climb out of his cot and he has done it once at MILs. I am worried about him falling out and hurting himself.

This might sound really silly but since having DS2 3 weeks ago I do feel that DS1 isn't my baby anymore and that him being in a cot is the last thing that is keeping him as a baby. But it needs doing.

So do we expect him to be up a few times in the first couple of nights or as he is a good sleeper is he likely to just sleep as normal?

ds slept really well when he moved to a bed, far better then he slept in a cot.
He used to fall out of it alot though, it was a toddler bed so very low but I would find him on the floor every night. He has not grown out of this and now has a cabin bed with high sides so he can't fall out.

Oh I hadn't thought of that. Hopefully he won't fall out too much.
