separation anxiety and co-sleeping

dd (9 months) has always co-slept with me, always fed 2 or 3 tmes a night and usually needed a little bit of settling in the evenings. in the last week, she has gone absolutely haywire waking every 10 or 15 minutes and tonight every 2 or 3 minutes VERY upset.

she has had a stomach bug recently and although she seems fine during the day, i'm wondering if it is still disrupting her sleep. alternatively, could this be separation anxiety? if so, how long does this phase last? any tips to reduce her distress?

currently i go in and lie beside her. however, as soon as she senses i'm not there, she wakes again. this is a problem through the night also. if i am not facing her while sleeping she wakes and cries. ds (3) usually joins us through the night, and if i try to turn away from dd to give him a cuddle, she cries. will this pass? am i nuts??!!

shhh.... she hasn't woken in the time it has taken me to write this; that's the longest stretch tonight!!! [bags under eyes emoticon]

ahhhhhhhhh... that's nice to hear. she has finally been sleeping for a longer stretch, and just before that i had her curled on my knee while i was mumsnetting so here's hoping that i'm not setting a precedent there too!

hopefully when she is feeling a bit better and realises i'm not going anywhere, she'll chill out a bit through the night too.

aha... it was the stomach bug. she was sick at 2.30 am. had to resist the urge to run away and jump on a quiet nightbus to get a sleep when i was still trying to settle dd and ds at 4 am.
