Hi All, my mum is driving me mad saying that we shouldn't have a nightlite in the kids bedroom now (5 and 3.5), should we be trying to wean them off this, or what are your thoughts? Many thanks,

Fran

Why does she think you should wean them off it? My 13 year old still has a nightlight - well it pretends to be a rainbow but it's definitely a nightlight!

ds is 5 and has a night light. It doesnt wake him at all and makes it easier for me to see when I check on him before bed.

I have a night light am i setting a bad example?
It one of those ghosty ones from Ikea - its fab!

I agree with you all, thank you. When we turn it off, and they wake up, you end up staggering about in the dark yourself trying to get to them to stop them crying, they end up staggering about trying to get to the toilet. The nightlight remains!

I really don't see a problem with it - when I was little I always had the landing light on and my door open - as I got older I kept it up so that I could read after lights out!
