ds2 has never been easy to settle for naps but did at least used to do 30 min naps. However he has cut back to just 15 mins - which given that it takes 15 mins to get him off is a bit demoralising. He definitely needs longer as if I pick him up and rock him he dozes back off again but wakes as soon as I think about putting him down. If I get him up he is then only awake for a short while before I need to settle him again for a nap. During term time this hasn't been such an issue as he would sleep in the sling on the pre-school run (about an hour's round trip) both for drop off and pick up. He would then do 15 mins about 2ish after which I would chuck him on the boob whilst I watched tv until 3pm (ds1 and dd would be having their naps at this point) and then ds2 would have a final 15 mins about 4.30.
However with the holidays approaching I am concerned over the amount of time I will need to spend settling him as I can't force ds1 and dd to walk the streets just to get ds2 to nap. ds1 is 3.6 and dd is 2.1 so I don't really like to leave them unsupervised for any real length of time. ds2 is getting heavy and the sling is really starting to hurt. ds2 does not fall asleep in the pushchair so can't shuffle him off in that and wheel him into another room when he is asleep.
Any suggestions?
