This is about me not DCs - I CANNOT wake up in the mornings, Is it SAD? Help!

I honestly cannot seem to wake up or even open my eyes these days, until there is a bit of light in the bedroom which is not til around 8am! Is this a sign of SAD? I don't have any other symptoms like feeling depressed and am ok once I've actually got up and showered, but I think only the house being on fire would get me out of bed whilst it is still dark these days.

Thank God DH has to be up for work so he usually gets up with the DC's at 6.30ish.

I have heard about those alarm clocks that act like the sun and wake you up gradually, are they any good?

TIA

Watching as need suggestions for my DH! Was contemplating starting a thread entitled 'Can anyone REALLY not function on less than eight hours' sleep? (what would he do if there were no obliging wife "willing" to compensate by averaging about four"...)'

It could be a form of SAD.

Are you on AD's?

I always get this as a side effect of ADs - just hard to surface.

I have a SAD lamp that I use for about 15 minutes every day that helps a LOT, so I'd think one of those alarms that acts like the sun could help.

I'm not on AD's expat. Does the lamp help you get up in the morning?

I have a Lumie body clock. I have had it for 7 years and it really helps me.

I was hopeless at getting up, but actually am awake now before the bleeper goes

So they are expensive, but well worth it IMHO

i find the lamp has just helped me in general with my circadian rhythm.

i usually have terrible insomnia and still get a bad bout from time to time.

the SAD lamp seems to help improve this part of my life.

DD1 uses it, too.
