Stokke cot question

I think my DS (3 weeks old) might be too big for his moses basket now (hands keep flailing against the sides) and so I was thinking of putting him in his cot in his room (for daytime naps - we have bought a travel cot to go in our room at night) but the Stokke Mini Cot is also quite small and to buy a matress its £65. So I was thinking that to make sure its big enough and to save some money we could turn it into the Sleepi Cot (next size up) already and put him in there.

Anyone know if there would be any reason for not doing this??

Thanks!

No reason why he can't go in the full size cot ChocO. People tend to use moses baskets etc as it helps make the baby feel more secure when they are brand new (the baby that is, not the basket )

the flailing thing is just a reflex that they all do when startled; maybe swaddling him will help?

Thanks Daisy. We used to swaddle him with his arms in but then unless he's properly asleep he wakes himself up because he's thrashing his arms around so we found it best to swaddle him with his arms out.

Gosh - its a no win with these LO's!!

We have a stokke cot (have used it since birth).

I assume you mean you've got the cot and you're contemplating buying the mini kit?

DS is 11 weeks and very long for his age, and has virtually grown out of the mini already - it will probably last till xmas...

choc tiger has been in her full sized cot for daytime naps since day 1 and in her ful sized tra\vel cot in our room at night since day 1!!! None of mine have been good in moses as they get restless and fail their arms around......I know lots of people who use full size cot from day 1.........
