My 11mth dd has been in with me for about 2mths now for the same reason!

I have a guard rail on one side and the cot pushed up against the other - tbh i'm still a bit nervous. There are loads of threads on safe co-sleeping though if you search.

i have her in a grobag on top of the quilt and down a bit, so no covers likely to go over her head, also keep my pillow well away (and only my pillow on the bed) (dh either nightshift or kicked out!)

Perfectly reasonable not to want to be alone in the cot when your teeth hurt I think.

I let my ds sleep on my bed all the time, I pile pillows either side at the edge of the bed with him in the middle, but he's a bit older (14 months) so I'm less worried about him falling off. He's very mobile and knows how to get off the bed on his own. How mobile is your ds? Could you leave him with cushions stacked either side of him? If you're unsure about cushions, could you get a couple of these for either side of your bed so you could feel comfortable about sleeping in your bed without you being there.

Ohhhhh it's not just DS, then! They both popped this morning, but he has nasty cold. Please let sleep come back soon...
