It's been a long, hard, tearful, slog to get 2yo ds2 sleeping through the night. For the past few months he has at last been sleeping 9h at night, with the occasional easily-resettled waking.

Last night he woke every 2-3h.

I'd forgotten what it was like. Just one night of broken sleep and I'm a zombie again.

And on top of that, he's on food-strike. He starts off eating hungrily, then pushes the food away and gets down from the table. Ater 10-15mins, when I've finished eating, I clear the table. He then returns to the table claiming the rest of his food. And because he's hungry he wants constant snacks. And turns into a wailing ratbag when I refuse or limit them.

And so I'm turning into a ratbag as well.

And any moment now he's going to wake from his nap and it will start all over again.

I could just curl up and cry. Wahhhhhh. No, actually, I could just curl up and go to sleep.

You poor thing. I feel for you. DD 18mths slept for 9 hrs last night for the first time ever. I must be so hard when you know they can do it but don't.
I don't really have any advice just wanted you to know you are not alone. I'm sure you are doing a great job.

Thanks, PuzzleRocks.

Hope you've had more good nights since. Ds slept 10.5h last night (also for the first time ever!), waking after 6am.

A good bit of sleep makes the world a brighter place.
