Bonfire Night!

So did we all survive unscathed? I am shocked to report my DD didn't st once despite what sounded like WWII outside. It does make you wonder why you spend all evening creeping around and glaring at each other when you drop a teaspoon!

I am very relieved last night is over though... I had worked myself into a right tizzy over it!

After being one of the worst sleepers EVER before he turned 2 yrs, DS slept peacefully though a major bombardment last night, not bothered in the slightest!

He had been excitedly watching the neighbour's fireworks through the window before bed last night and his first words this morning were 'booms finished?'

Awww bless him!

I took my three kids to a bonfire party at their Grandad's church (he is the minister) and the youngest DD (3 months) slept through most of it. My DS fell alseep in my arms at 7pm (it started at 6:30pm and he is 2). My other DD who is three (going on 13) had the time of her life playing with her 8 year old cousin and all the other kids there.

It was a great night and we got them home just after 8pm and they were sound asleep for the rest of the evening until about half 7 this morning.

I took dd to a party at a relative's house, and she was so knackered by the time we got in that I think she would have slept through anything.

I, on the other hand, was like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for her to wake up and cursing all the rockets and bangers.

DD stayed awake for an extra 30 min at bedtime and then had to be re-settled once more. I actually expected worse, so I shouldn't complain!

I think I was expecting complete meltdown!

Ha, dd was awake screaming for an hr. It sounded like ww 3 in her bedroom. I ended up feeding her back to sleep as she would not calm down -oh bugger, I can hear her kicking off now. The fireworks are going of again.

Ha ha! Finally, an advantage living in Germany - there is no Bonfire night fiasco.

Sorry to hear about DD's meltdown Pudding!!

Don't worry - you will get your own back on me New Years. They let fireworks off for HOURS and HOURS here - in the street, in their gardens. Am dreading it already!

Thankfully, she didn't wak up properly last night and went back to sleep herself but I still hate them! They go on until new year here.
