So, how much sleep does/ did your 6 month old have during the day and how many naps?

Just that really...

DD (6mo) is currently still having 3 naps of about 1 1/2 hours each during the day. Just wondering if this is similar to others.

TIA

DD (24.5 weeks) sleeps on average 2x2 hours, sometimes with another 45mins-1hr in the evening. Bed 7-7 (unfortunately not non-stop! feeds twice in that time, awake both times between 40 mins and an hour). I worry this is too much! [no pleasing some people emoticon]

Mine sleeps once for maybe about an hour. Sometimes not at all apart from short cat naps if we go out in the car.

She does sleep for about 11 hours straight at night but has never slept very much during the day.

11-12 hours at night. 45 mins x 2 in the morning. 1 hr if we're lucky in the pm. He's a grumpy shit if he doesn't.

How did you establish the 2 naps a day thing? I wish DD would stay awake longer in the mornings so she could have a longer sleep. At the moment she wakes at 7am and will be in bed again by 8.45. Then its at least 2 more sleeps of about an hour to 1 1/2 hours. I don't mind that she has several sleeps but that they could perhaps be joined up IYSWIM.

I have no recollection of Ds (41/2) sleep patterns at this age [crap memory due to having 2 kids emoticon]

Forgot to say she sleeps about 12 hours through the night.

And for some odd reason she never sleeps in the car

haha - same as! Once up, DS has just 1-1.5 hrs of feeding, story, very loud chat, etc before going back to bed. Must be knackering, this baby business.

2-3-4 pattern works well for some babies. Up in the morning, 1st nap 2 hours later; 2nd nap 3 hrs after waking, bed 4 hrs after waking. DS was not at all a 2-3-4 and had 3 naps, the last of which around 4pm, until nearly a year, then two naps until 18 months. Recommendation is 11-12 hours at night plus 2-3 in the day (14.25 hrs total) at this age.

DS 6 months

sleeps roughly 7pm to 7 or 8am

naps around 9am for hour and a half maybe more

naps again 1pm ish for same as above

third nap about 4 ish an hour perhaps.

DD 6 months. Sleeps 7.30pm - 7am then 3X 45 mins throughout the day - could set my clock by her. Jealous of those with 2 hour naps [envy}
