She has always been a pretty good sleeper but just over the last couple of weeks, she has started waking from about 3am onwards. She sleeps for about 1 - 1.5hrs in a day but it makes no difference if she has no sleep at all. I'm wondering if she is waking up because she is cold. I dress her in vest, pj's & socks. She has a blacket but refuses a quilt. Often she will wake up at night crying for her blanket, but can't keep it on her/pull it up to her. What does everybody else put their kids in to sleep, and how do you stop them getting cold? She hates sleeping bags. Thankyou.

Similar probs with DS1 try warmer PJs also is she in cot or bed I found with DS1 when he started sleeping erratically around 2 moving him to a bed helped.

Grow bags are good for keeping little ones toasty.

She is still in a cot at the moment. How did it go moving him to a bed?

teeth? DS's last two molars are coming through (still) and he;s def more restless.

janjas · 15/09/2008 13:12

hmmm never thought of teeth. She was complaining of ear-ache last week which seemed to come and go and I put that down to teeth so yes, maybe thats affecting her sleep. Its a minefield isn't it! There's so many things it could be!

I'd go with the flow and see what happens (newborn philosophy applied randomly to all childcare issues )

Hi Janjas, sorry for not replying re bed. It actually went loads better than i had feared. He loved it and slept much better and didn't keep getting out as I thought he would. Also had a bigger and warmer duvet then so think that helped to keep him cosier About to try it with DS2 but not sure it'll go so well this time!
